WHAT DOES WATER REMEMBER?
Could Orthodox Science Be All Wet About Homeopathy & 'Structured' Water?
BY JEANE MANNING
What if the element that keeps us alive could also perform wonders that few of its protectors know about? What if water is sensitive to everything it touches, and stores inside itself a record of the substances encountered on its journey?
THE CONSTELLATION LEO & THE GREAT SPHINX
A New Book by Robert Schoch and Robert Bauval Explores the Great Monument's Disputed Origins
BY ROBERT BAUVAL
It has long been believed (and still is!) by Egyptologists that the ancient Egyptians did not know the zodiac and that it--the so-called Greco-Babylonian zodiac--was brought into Egypt sometime in the third or fourth century BCE, probably by the Greeks. This may indeed be so for the Babylonian zodiac, but it does not necessarily follow that the ancient Egyptians did not have a zodiac of their own or did not identify certain constellations along the zodiacal belt that were important to them.
NINE UNKNOWN MEN
The Story of the Mysterious Brotherhood of Asoka the Great
BY DAVID H. CHILDRESS
Pataliputra was a city in ancient India, originally built by Magadha ruler Ajatashatru in 490 BCE as a small fort near the Ganges river. The city reached the pinnacle of prosperity when it became the capital of the great Mauryan emperors, Chandragupta Maurya and Asoka the Great.
THE OTHER SIDE
THE MYSTERIOUS GIFTS OF THE SAINTS
When the Case for the Miraculous Cannot Be Honestly Dismissed
BY STEVEN SORA
Holy men and women of the Christian Churches often surprise their faithful long after death. Their bodies may remain incorrupt, their bones can produce liquids like oils, or solids like powders, and their blood can turn from liquid to solid almost on cue.
DANCE OF THE SHAMAN
Is There Evidence for the Reality of the Spirit?
BY ROBERT M. SCHOCH, Ph.D.
As many readers who are familiar with my work surely realize, in many ways I straddle a couple of different communities--indeed, different worlds. I am a trained and "card-carrying" academic. I earned a Ph.D. in geology and geophysics at Yale University and I am currently a full-time tenured faculty member at Boston University. Yet I take a deep and serious interest in various topics that the majority of my fellow academics find, to put it mildly, loathsome. I have challenged mainstream status quo dogma and studied topics that, I have been advised, are best left unexplored if I want to have a successful university career.
ANTARCTIC ANOMALIES AND 'CONSPIRICISM'
Once again the mystery of Antarctica is making news, though the full implications of recent developments are not yet entirely clear.
KING TUT'S TOMB SET FOR HI-TECH RADAR SEARCH
In the first half of 2016 we reported several times on new research in King Tut's tomb, in Egypt's Valley of the Kings, that suggested a previously undiscovered chamber might exist there. Subsequent preliminary studies proved inconclusive, but the investigation has not ended. In February, the Egyptian Department of Antiquities announced that the scientific search for a lost secret chamber will resume in earnest later in 2017.
CIA USED REMOTE VIEWING IN TERRORISM PROBE
New evidence has emerged indicating the seriousness with which U.S. intelligence agencies once took evidence based on paranormal sources.
MAGNETIC EARTH: A CAUSE OR AN EFFECT?
Most of us have been taught that where there is smoke there is fire. One might also say, if there is a magnetic field, there must be a magnet. That is how most theories about the nature of Earth's core originated, but are they true?
TUNGUSKA'S MYSTERY REVISITED
In June of 1908 something blew up over Tunguska in Siberia. Since 2012 many have believed that the mysterious event--one of the largest explosions in history--was caused by a meteor. The evidence, they say, is an enormous and unidentified object, shown on bathymetric surveys, buried deep beneath Lake Cheko. A new analysis by Russian scientists though, says not so fast.
NEW 'CHIMERA' EXPERIMENTS CAUSE ALARM
Among serious proponents for the existence of Atlantis, are many who also suspect that the forgotten ancient civilization fell because of great evils that flourished there. One of the worst, it is said, was an advanced and unscrupulous science of genetic engineering which produced many monstrosities. Ancient mythological creatures like centaurs, satyrs, chimeras, maybe even the Great Sphinx of Egypt, are, it is believed, but subconscious reconstructions of the horrors of an otherwise mercifully forgotten time.
ANOTHER DEAD-SEA SCROLLS CAVE FOUND
The good news: another Dead Sea Scrolls cave has been discovered. The bad news: there are no more Dead Sea Scrolls in it. Apparently the looters found it first.
MORE EMBARRASSMENT FOR ORTHODOX ARCHAEOLOGY
Not many years ago, the suggestion that humans could have lived in North America over 13,000 years ago, would have been dismissed as the raving of the uneducated. Now newly reconsidered evidence, found over 40 years ago, is proving the human presence here at least 24,000 years ago. Part of a growing flood tide of such evidence, the discovery eviscerates the conventional wisdom of a generation.
AMAZON GEOGLYPHS SHOW SIGNS OF LOST HIGH CIVILIZATION
For years conventional wisdom regarding the Amazonian rain forests, has held that before the arrival of the Europeans, they were pristine ecosystems that had never experienced the destructive forces of civilization. Never mind the claims of explorers like Percy Fawcett that, where today there is only jungle, there had once been cities. There simply wasn't enough arable farmland, it was argued, to support anything other than a primitive subsistence culture. Such pronouncements, however, are now contradicted by new discoveries--chief among them: immense carefully constructed geometrical earthworks (over 450 found so far, of mostly large circles and squares).
THE AUSTRALIAN AMERICANS
Is the Standard Out-of-Africa Narrative About to Change?
BY STEVEN & EVAN STRONG
Over the last decade, all manner of unexpected archaeological discoveries have led to many experts questioning much of what was assumed to be fact. A large variety of unexpected findings have called into question many elemental assumptions held about the past.
ANCIENT ETs VS. DARWIN
Are Ancient Alien Theorists, Really Creationists?
BY RITA LOUISE. Ph.D.
Who are we? How did we come to be upon the earth? It was once accepted as fact in the Western world that we came into being through a series of creative acts that took place over the course of just six days. In this particular narrative God placed the sun, moon, and stars in the sky and created the plants and animals; and then, on the sixth day, formed the first man and woman and placed them in a divine garden to live.
THE IMMORTAL LAWS OF MUSIC
Are Our Preferences Due to Nature or Nurture?
BY MARTIN RUGGLES
According to a new study, the music of Mozart and Strauss can lower blood lipid concentrations and the heart rate. A 2016 paper on the effect of different musical genres on the cardiovascular system, published in "Deutsches Orzteblatt International", showed that Mozart and Strauss music amazingly lowered blood pressure and heart rate, whereas there was no discernible effect for the songs of the pop band ABBA used as the control group.
LOST CITY OF THE ARCTIC
Advanced Ancient Civilization in the Middle of Nowhere
BY FRANK JOSEPH
There is no more desolate nor inhabitable location on our planet that found above the Arctic Circle. Ferocious temperatures lashed by blasting windstorms make it a most difficult area for life to get a foothold. This ultimately remote and forbidden polar region would be the last place anyone would expect to discover evidence for an ancient civilization. Yet, the distinguished Natural History magazine reported, "We have now found an Arctic metropolis many times larger than anything previously thought possible in this part of the world and inhabited by people whose material culture differed markedly from that of the Eskimos, as we know them."
THE HELIX OF THE AGES
Understanding the Cycles of Time
BY WILLIAM B. STOECKER
The ancient Hindu sacred texts maintain that time for human cultures is divided up into discrete ages, or "Yugas." The Satya Yuga was a time of peace and plenty; people were long-lived giants, morally upright, who had no need to toil away on farms or in mines. Morally, economically, and health-wise they degenerated a bit in the following Treta Yuga, and declined even more in the Duapara Yuga. Most Hindu scholars believe that we are now in the terrible Kali Yuga (named after the seemingly demonic Hindu goddess) a time of moral decline, poor health, pollution, and poverty.
EARTH AND THE SCHEME OF THINGS
Understanding the Gaia Factor in Astrology
BY JULIE LOAR
On February 22, 2017 NASA made a stunning announcement. The Spitzer Space Telescope has revealed the first-known system of seven Earth-sized exoplanets (planets outside our solar system) in orbit around a single star. This system is in the constellation of Aquarius and is about 40 light-years from Earth--relatively close in stellar terms. NASA believes three of these exoplanets may be in the habitable zone where a rocky planet is likely to have water.
SEARCHING FOR INSIGHTS IN INKBLOTS
J. DOUGLAS KENYON
A new book drawing attention is "The Inkblots: Herman Rorschach, His Iconic Test, and the Power of Seeing", by Damon Searls. It's the story of what was once one of psychiatry's most frequently used tools. You can get the book from the Atlantis Rising Store. Rorschach himself was a psychiatrist with artistic ability, who trained with Freud and Jung. Working in a Swiss asylum, in 1917, he designed a test intended to reveal the subjective perceptual experience of his patients.
