ANCIENT MYSTERIES
SEEKING THE "LOST" EQUATOR Ice-Age-Era Artifact of a Destroyed Civilization?
BY JONATHON A. PERRIN
A row of seven towering Moai statues watch over the calm Pacific Ocean from Easter Island. The setting sun glints off their white coral eyes, gazing far out into the endless blue. They look along a direct line connecting their tiny island to other ancient sites in Peru, Africa, the Middle East, India, and Asia, all the way back again to Easter Island. This ring of ancient sites forms a line around the world about 25,000 miles long and tilted at 30 degrees to our present equator--a “tipped“ equator.

THE PARANORMAL
TUNNELING THROUGH TIME Could Visitors from the Past & the Future Be Here After All?
BY MARTIN RUGGLES
A few years ago an HBO/BBC film comedy "Frequently Asked Questions about Time Travel" explored the humor potential in the possibility of a time warp in the men's room of your favorite pub. Even serious people, however, think about time travel. Popular physicist Michio Kaku in his bestselling book 'The Physics of the Future' explored to what extent the technologies and devices of science fiction, including time travel, that are deemed impossible today, might well become commonplace in the future, just as lasers, televisions, and atom bombs and other familiar technologies of contemporary life were once deemed impossible. Kaku says a time machine is consistent with the known laws of quantum physics, although, he thinks, it would take an unbelievably advanced civilization to actually build one.

VANISHING ACTS Tracking the Strange Disappearances of People & Animals Worldwide
BY WILLIAM B. STOECKER
In February last year, a group of Toronto firemen were skiing at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort in Wilmington, NY. One of them, Constantinos "Danny" Filippidis, failed to return from the slopes. A search was launched, but he was nowhere to be found, until, six days later, he called his wife and then 911 from the Sacramento, CA airport. He was carrying a credit card and cash, but no other ID, and was still wearing his ski clothes.

UFOs U.S. FORCES VS. UFOS BEFORE ROSWELL
Could Forgotten Accounts, Force a Look at Evidence Once Considered Taboo?
BY FRANK JOSEPH
Kenneth Arnold's famous mid-air sighting of nine "flying saucers" over Washington State's Mount Rainier during the late morning of June 24, 1947, is generally regarded as the first such observation. Allied pilot confrontations with so-called "Foo Fighters" a few years earlier, during World War II, are almost as well known. But even students of the UFO phenomenon may not realize that its best documentation rests in the military records of its service personnel, whose lives and those of their comrades absolutely depend on acute awareness of all movements within visual range, together with their most accurate and clear descriptions.

GIANTS IN THE PAPERS Lost Details of the Senora Skeleton Finds
BY JAMES VIERA & HUGH NEWMAN
In 1930, Dr. Byron Cummings, head of the Archaeology Department at the University of Arizona and the highly respected dean of Southwest Archaeology, was contacted by J. L. Coker, a miner who was working in the isolated Sonora section in Mexico. Coker claimed to have unearthed skeletons averaging 8 feet tall, with one measuring 8 feet 3 inches. Coker also described one of the skulls as more than a foot long and ten inches wide. These finds match the oral history of the Yaqui Indians who claim that a race of giants inhabited the area long ago.

CONSCIOUSNESS
CHURCH ENERGY What Mystic Science Were the Builders Practicing?
BY CHARLES SHAHAR
Many of the prominent sacred structures of the world were built in places with natural energy concentrations, specifically at the intersection of major ley lines. Where two or more of these ley lines intersect, a vortex of energy is formed. The most powerful space within a church or temple is usually found at the intersection of these currents. When the elements of worship and devotion are added to the already high-energy atmosphere, its power is further amplified.

THE OTHER SIDE
"THE WAY" OF ST. JAMES Was It Sacred, or a Cover for the Profane?
BY STEVEN SORA
The birth of tourism was the holy pilgrimage of long ago. In the medieval world Jerusalem was the focal point for Christians, but after losing that sacred destination to Islam, a place in Spain took over the role. The Camino de Santiago, starting in what is now the South of France and ending in the Cathedral of Santiago near the Atlantic coast of Spain, became the number-one pilgrim destination of the time. Santiago actually is the Spanish term for the Apostle St. James. The Camino de Santiago is often referred to simply as "The Way."

ANCIENT WISDOM
QUEST FOR A GOLDEN AGE Have We Been Here Before?
BY GEOFFREY ASHE
How did early societies take shape, and what happened before their emergence into historical daylight? Prehistorians have their answers. They describe various forward steps: the invention of farming, the clustering of settled communities, technological advances, the concentration of power, urban beginnings. All of this is sound. Nothing can be a substitute for the facts revealed, or for the scholarship that reveals them. Yet when we turn to myth and legend, we find assertions about the context of these developments that have a paradoxical air. They imply an attitude and an overall picture that are in sharp contrast with the imagery of progress.

THE OTHER SIDE
THE DIMENSIONS OF INSPIRATION The Strange Case of Victor Hugo Yet Unsolved
BY JOHN CHAMBERS
A few years ago a glut of books on the market presented supposedly spirit-channeled guidance on everything from ancient mysteries to contemporary social behavior. The goal, ostensibly, was to warn us that if our species continues its self-centered, destructive march and does not make a determined effort to shift upward to a more spiritual level, then it cannot hope to survive. These non-material "Light Beings" usually claimed they were here to help us make the leap.

ALTERNATIVE SCIENCE
REALITY Fundamentally Speaking--What Is It Anyway?
BY ROBERT M. SCHOCH, Ph.D.
I believe it is fair to say that most people, at least when it comes to everyday life, believe in some sort of objective reality. There is something real "out there"--that is, something outside of our mental processes and consciousness. A common argument is that we all share the same "objective reality." When I look at the Moon and you look at the Moon, we see the same Moon and can view the same features on it. Or, when a tiger attacks me, the tiger tastes my blood and flesh even as I feel the pain of the tiger's teeth tearing through my skin. Both the tiger and I have perceptions, and our mutually complementary perceptions are based on some objective material world outside of our respective mental states.

THE FORBIDDEN ARCHAEOLOGIST
FORBIDDEN ARCHAEOLOGY AND CONSCIOUSNESS
BY MICHAEL A.CREMO
In January 2019, I attended the conference 'Consciousness in Science' in Gainesville, Florida. The conference was organized by the Bhaktivedanta Institute for Higher Studies. It opened on the evening of January 18 with lectures by consciousness researchers, Stuart Hameroff and Brenda Dunne, in the auditorium of the Harn Museum of the University of Florida.

ASTROLOGY
SNOW WHITE, THE GOBLIN, FAROUT And Other Denizens of the Outer Solar System
BY JULIE LOAR
Carl Sagan's book "Pale Blue Dot" was inspired by an image, taken at his suggestion, by Voyager 1 on February 14, 1990. As the spacecraft left our planetary neighborhood for the edge of the Solar System and deep space, engineers turned the craft around for one last look at our home planet. Voyager 1 was about 4 billion miles (6.4 billion km) away when it captured a portrait of our world. Caught in the center of scattered rays of light, Earth appeared as a tiny blue point of light, only 0.12 pixel in size. More than four decades after its launch, we know much more about our Solar System and the vast reaches of space beyond, but in some ways the extended mystery only deepens.

PUBLISHER'S LETTER
THE SUN' A CRYSTAL IN THE MAKING?
BY J. DOUGLAS KENYON
In 'Atlantis Rising' #129, May/June 2018, Martin Ruggles wrote about new research from Japan suggesting that Earth's magnetic field is powered, not by molten iron and nickel as conventional science maintains but, instead, by "quartz" crystals at its core.
