ANCIENT MYSTERIES SECRETS OF TIWANAKU Lost Artifacts and Hidden Rooms?
BY HUGH NEWMAN
In December 2017, fellow megalithic researcher J.J. Ainsworth, and I, stayed in Tiwanaku for a few days to thoroughly explore the sites of Tiwanaku and Puma Punku, looking for any anomalies or things we'd previously missed. I have visited the area ten times over twelve years and was part of the "Ancient Aliens" TV show in an episode focussed on the mystery of Puma Punku, but I had never had more than one day to explore the complex. This time I had four.
MORE SECRETS OF TIWANAKU
Prediluvian Tunnels and the Atlantis Connection
BY ADRIANO FORGIONE
Could the intact body of a prediluvian king have been discovered in an underground room beneath the ancient and sacred Akapana Pyramid in Tiwanaku, Bolivia? Though no mainstream news reports have made it official yet, one of the most respected archaeologists in Bolivia has confirmed directly to this reporter that, strange as it may sound, the story is true.
LOST ORIGINS THE LAST OF THE DENISOVANS
Did Their Story End With the Ice Age?
BY ANDREW COLLINS
The date is approximately 45,000 years ago; the location, a mountain pass somewhere in the Altai-Sayan region of southern Siberia. From a rocky vantage point, four, tall, darkened forms emerge into view from behind a patch of cold early-morning mist. They stand a few meters apart, gazing toward the only path permitting access to the mountains central plateau.
LOST HISTORY THE MEN & THE WOMAN WHO PUT SHAKESPEARE TOGETHER
The Authorship Controversy Has Not Gone Away
BY STEVEN SORA
The mystery of Shakespearean authorship is back in the news. No longer is anyone who questions the authenticity of the notion that the plays were written by a man from Avon considered to be a crank. Even the BBC is now discussing the matter seriously. In Cracking The Shakespeare Code, a recent, four-part documentary on the Timeline series, historian Dr. Robert Crumpton joins forces with Norwegian code breaker Petter Amundsen to investigate the secrets buried in Shakespeares first folio and to decipher a coded map that may lead to one of historys greatest treasures, perhaps on Americas mysterious Oak Island. As fantastic as the story may sound, it is not because there is any shortage of intriguing evidence, and not because the subject is in any way a new one.
THE UNEXPLAINED PHOTOGRAPHING THE INVISIBLE
Certainly There Has Been Deception, but Maybe Theres More to the Story
BY MICHAEL TYMN
What is especially curious and perplexing about all that supposed humbug is why those alleged mediums thought that anyone would think it real. Did they expect their victims to be so dimwitted, so utterly stupid as to believe all that claptrap was authentic? The fact is, however, that millions of people, including a number of distinguished scientists and scholars, did accept some of it as genuine paranormal phenomena.
TECHNOLOGIES OF THE GODS
WHERE ARE THE LOST MACHINES?
We Have Seen the Results, but What Happened to the Construction Equipment?
BY WILLIAM B. STOECKER
There is good reason to believe that the ancients, perhaps as far back as prehistoric times, had a form of technology completely different from what we use today. Given the mystery of their ability to lift and transport massive stones weighing millions of pounds, they were not behind or ahead of us on the same line, of development but on a completely different line.
THE CHARIOTS OF THE SUN
Were Secret Pagan Symbols in Solomons Temple?
BY JONATHON PERRIN
The temple of Solomon was meant to be dedicated to Yahweh, the Jewish god, alone, yet many Bible verses speak of pagan altars and idols within the structure, including chariots of the sun. Sun horses and chariots have parallels in many cultures across the Old World and likely influenced those mentioned in the Bible. What were these chariots to the sun doing in perhaps the most famous temple to monotheism, and what do they reveal about the secret pagan origins of Judaism?
LOST REALMS--FOLLOWING THE MYTHIC TRAIL
Ancient Clues Point to a Missing History
BY FRANK JOSEPH
My article about lost, ancient, civilizations, Searching for Antilia and Hyperborea, had just gone to press with Atlantis Rising #130 (July/August, 2018), when I stumbled upon a forgotten passage in Homers Odyssey that seemed to reference one of these kingdoms.
BEYOND THE BRAIN
Could Mind and Consciousness Exist Independently?
BY ROBERT M. SCHOCH, Ph.D.
There is strong evidence that mind and consciousness are separate from and independent of, yet intimately related to (one might say entangled with), the brain during biological life. When the brain dies, consciousness and mind may continue.
IS TIME SPEEDING UP?
The Future Is Ahead of Schedule
BY SUSAN B. MARTINEZ, Ph.D.
Over the centuries there has been much speculation on the nature of change, scientists even polarizing into uniformitarians versus catastrophists (gradualism versus Great Leap Forward), the latter especially championed by post-modern theorists. Some see the decline of our civilization threatening to speed up dramatically, others merely remarking the vertiginous pace of change.
THE FORBIDDEN ARCHAEOLOGIST
THE BROWNSVILLE SKULL:
CASE NOT CLOSED
BY MICHAEL A. CREMO
I discussed the Brownwood Skull in this column in Atlantis Rising #88 (July/August 2011). The partial skull, and some other human bones, were discovered near Brownwood, Texas, in November, 1932, by road construction workers who were using dynamite to blast a limestone ledge. After one set of explosions on a huge limestone boulder, the workers noticed some human bones in the limestone debris. The bones came from limestone belonging to the Pennsylvanian, a sub-period of the Carboniferous. The Pennsylvanian extends from 298.9 million to 338.2 million years ago. The Brownwood skull thus provides possible evidence for a human presence during that era.
ANCIENT STAR MAPS
Could Astrology and the Zodiac Be Much Older than Has Been Thought?
BY JULIE LOAR
In 2011 a research team published a scientific paper that described the discovery of what they claimed may be the oldest astrologers board. Staso Forenbaher and Alexander Jones published their paper in the Journal for the History of Astronomy. Jones said, This is probably older than any other known example. Its also older than any of the written horoscopes from the Greco-Roman world. He added, We have a lot of horoscopes that are documents on papyrus or on walls but none of them are as old as this.
RED PYRAMID REDUX
BY J. DOUGLAS KENYON
In February of 1999 Atlantis Rising sponsored a John-Anthony-West-led tour of Egypt, during which this writer noted aloud the odd disparity between the chamber and the pyramid. Several points stood out. The stones in the pit at the bottom of the chamber were clearly of a different type than the structure above. Moreover, while the pyramid had been built with great precision, the pit was chaotic. And even though its stones were doubtless cut artificially, their edges had been rounded in a way that, to me, suggested water weathering. I thought the place must be part of a much older site, over which the pyramid had been built, possibly to memorialize a sacred, prediluvian, place. Whatever weathering had occurred had been arrested by the sheltering pyramid. I thought I was stating the obvious, but West, who overheard me, became excited. I think youre absolutely right, he exclaimed, I don't see any other possible explanation."
